From blogger to problogger
Get Custom Domain Name
I know there a lot of ways, tips, tutorials, and personal advises about how to become a pro blogger, because of this I said there is a million ways. It's important to try reading a lot of these tips as you can.
Of course i will not post a million ways, but my ways that i'll put here in this post will be within a million. Without wasting your time with a long introductions, so begin to read the important points.
  1. Define your purpose
  2. The first step in creating a better blog is to ask yourself why you're blogging?
What's the purpose of your blog?
Blogging are a great way to express yourself, connect with others who share your passions and interests, and share information and your experience.
The best method is to introduce your own thoughts, your own experience. But sometimes you have to republish some blog's posts, in this case you must package it in your style and add your thoughts and your experience to that subject.
  3. Use a powerful platform
  4. There are several of great blog platforms around the web, two of them sits on the throne -WordPress and Blogger. Which one shall you choose? It's up to you, both are great and have a lot of pros listed in the below table:
    BRIEF COMPARISON
    Blogger.com WordPress.com
Belongs to Google. CMS Script system.
It's 100% free service. Also It's free service.
Create as many blogs as you want Here you can too.
Simplicity and ease of use Easy to setup and to use
Link a Custom domain to your blog for free You have to pay for upgrade to transfer an existing domain name.
Create a team blog You can't do this here.
Completely custom HTML/CSS No way! Just in self hosted WordPress.
Monetize your blogs by includes adsense or other ads. The revenue of Ads that appears in your blog not for you.
You can include third-party scripts. No! The third-party scripts not allowed.

There is another great platform too seems like Blogger.com called tumblr.com if you would like to test it will be fine.

  5. Quality not Quantity
  6. We can easily publish many blog posts in a short time if we put more care on the Quantity and ignored the the Quality.
But you have to know that you will benefit from good quantity of the blog writing, these benefits will push up the rank of your blog site.
Briefly I will enumerate the benefits that will accrue to you because of the good content:

    • More subscribers to your blog.
    • Readers satisfaction.
    • Advertisers trust.
    • Loyal readers.
    • Social promotions and fans.

  7. Create Attractive Design
  8. Content is very important but isn't the only that matters. But your blog site design should also be attractive.
Of course You want to spur prospective readers to stay as long as possible because the page is not distracting or unreadable. The best design for the page is dependent in part on your content and theme. You can use color, font styles, and graphics to set the mood - just make sure the design matches the content.
Whatever your theme, it's best to avoid dark letters on a dark background, tiny or overly fancy typefaces, and other elements that make your blog hard to read.
If your blog is hosted on a public blogs site, you may be limited in how much you can change the design, so I encourage you to use Blogger blogs because you can easily change any part of the design or replace it if you want. In addition there is a variety of templates you can choose from. I will post the best of these professional templates later on.
  9. Keep your domain name
  10. Bloggers at the beginning of blogging are experimenting different hosting sites, If you are one of them try to do so as soon as possible and then keep your domain especially if you have many respect followers.
Moving around different domains you will lose some readers and followers.
  11. Establish a schedule for blogging
  12. Blog readers are a fickle bunch. Once you've drawn an audience, they expect to find new content when they visit your blog. That doesn't mean you have to post every day, but you should establish a minimum blogging schedule and stick to it.
Let readers know, preferably in a static text box at the top of your blog page, that you will update the blog daily, weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, or whatever. Then do it--even if some of your posts aren't particular profound or long. Readers will abandon your blog if they think you've abandoned them.
  13. Make it easy to navigate
  14. It's important to make it easy for readers to get around and do what they want to do.
For instance, if you're using comments and RSS feeds, make sure it's clear to readers how to post a comment or subscribe to the feed.
Make sure archives are organized logically--not just in chronological order but in categories to make it easier to find particular posts.
Make your site searchable, by putting a free Google Search Box on your site.
  15. Make it concise
  16. Generally the search engines like content at least 300 words long and they’re a medium-sized business, so guidelines are needed to keep the blog coherent. But the content is appropriate when it is in the range of 1000 words.
What if the Blog Posts are Longer?
If you have more to say, rather than writing one very long blog post, you’d be better off creating a series of blog posts because your blog will grow faster if you post shorter posts more often rather than long posts less frequently.
  17. Proofread before publishing
  18. Even if you're an English professor, it's easy to end up with typographical errors, misspellings, and grammatical flaws in your posts if you don't proofread before you hit the Publish button. Especially if you're writing in the heat of passion or inspiration, your typing fingers can get ahead of your thoughts and cause words to be omitted or transposed, commas to appear in the wrong places, or sentences to become garbled.

Finally what I'm to say that you must take more time to collect more information belongs to the subject you are going to write about, organize your thoughts, make it nice to read and garnish your subject with photos and drawings if it's possible. Have a nice time.

How to link your Blogger Blog to your Custom Domain
Get Custom Domain Name
By the recent updates in Blogger platform, linking Blogger blog to your custom domain name has become more safe. Because The Blogger team makes a condition to success that link by adding the ID of the Blogger blog owner to the control panel of the target website.
As an example here in my site bodydiv I own my custom domain but the blog sited in Blogspot.com, so many blogs websites sited their own blogs to Blogspot.com.
After registering your custom domain name ( I have explained how to get a free website here ) do these steps:
  1. Go to the dashboard of your Blogger blog >> Settings like in the picture:

  2. Blogger Dashboard

  3. Click on [add a custom domain] it will show you the next image

  4. Advanced Settings

  5. In this step just click on Switch to advanced settings then enter your custom domain name and click save, caution here, enter your real domain name started with www. A new expanded section contained a code which explained in the next image

  6. Code of Link

    • There is a question here, What is "ghs.google.com" means?? It allows your blog to be linked with your custom domain name. And the letters and digits followed is your ID, it means you are the real owner of the blog, the connection between Blogger.com and your site depends on this ID. So you must enter these digits and letters in it's place in your website's control panel.
  7. This is the pre final step, Go to control panel of your site, sign in and search for CNAME. In our example which is the website we have created in post in earlier time, here we click on Advanced DNS settings in Domains section as shown below

  8. DNS settings

  9. Now it's time to fire the trigger by entering the code given to us in step 3 into CNAME settings, in front of www enter ghs.google.com, but the other code you have to insert new line and name it, like the picture below

  10. CNames settings

    • Now save your work, you have to wait till your settings take effect. May be it will takes some time, or maybe immediately.
I have finished, please forgive me for my English. I hope you have benefited of this lesson and don't forget to give a comment in the comments section below. Bye.
